Star-Crossed
Acrylic and Digital  |  Edition of 20 Prints

William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet for Gallery 1988's "20 Years Later" show. I wanted to use the neon crosses from Juliet's funeral as both a visual and symbolic barrier between her and Romeo.

Their placement signifies the boundary of the star-crossed enmity between their houses, as well the veil between Life and Death since Juliet took her life first before Romeo followed.
