In Shoujo Kakumei Utena, Juri is depicted as being tormented by her unreciprocated love for her childhood friend, Shiori and the naive obliviousness she deems to be "cruel innocence". However in this expository reversal of roles, Juri now becomes the torturer as she expresses her desire for Shiori quite carnally as she mutilates the moth wings that Shiori dons surreally in the movie.
